Global Family Initiative’s Betasab Project, named after the Amharic word for family, was founded in 2007. GFI has made a visible impact on the lives of vulnerable children and women in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia by fully raising 20 orphaned children in our Origins Homes. Our Learning Lions programs, which provides high risk children with scholarships — including school supplies and uniforms — has doubled in size each year since 2015. And in 2018 we added the SHEBA program which provides basic business training to local women in Addis Ababa. I served on the board of GFI from 2016-2020.
